James Scott (født James Crofts 9. april 1649 i Rotterdam, Nederland, henrettet 15. juli 1685 i London) var 1. hertug av Monmouth og 1. hertug av Buccleuch. Henrietta Maria Wentworth, 6th Baroness Wentworth (11 August 1660 – 23 April 1686) was an English peeress. She was the mistress of James Scott, 1st Duke of Monmouth, and she financed the Monmouth Rebellion led by her lover. She survived his execution in 1685, but she died the following year at the age of 25.
