Tracy Chapman (født 30. mars 1964 i Cleveland i Ohio) er en amerikansk sanger og låtskriver, best kjent for singlene «Fast Car», «Talkin' Bout a Revolution», «Baby Can I Hold You» og «Give Me One Reason». Hun har vunnet flere Grammypriser.

Chapman ble signert til Elektra Records av Bob Krasnow i 1987. De påfølgende årene ga hun ut sitt debutalbum, Tracy Chapman, som ble en kommersiell suksess, blant annet ved hjelp av hennes opptreden på Nelson Mandelas 70års hyllningskonsert, der albumet Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute ble utgitt og ble sertifisert til 6 X Platina av Recording Industry Association of America. Albumet mottok seks Grammy Award nominasjoner, inkludert en for "Album of the Year", "Best New Artist", og en for "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance" for sin singel «Fast Car» og "Best Contemporary Folk Album". I 1989, ga Chapman ut sitt andre album, Crossroads, som ga henne nok en Grammy Award nominasjon for "Best Contemporary Folk Album". Hennes tredje album, Matters of the Heart, fulgte i 1992.
